St Peter’s Congregation Greytown – 50th Anniversary

St Peter’s Congregation in Greytown celebrated their 50th anniversary on 10 December 2023. Having reached out to former members and invited neighbouring congregations, the pews were full to overflowing onto extra seating. The joyful sound of hymns sung saturated the room and a combined brass band honoured the day with a powerful delivery of “Zion’s Daughter” (“Tochter Zion”) and other pieces. The service was followed by speeches and a “short”, but very interesting, history of the congregation. A light, bring-and-share lunch, served with coffee, tea and juice and lots of warm conversation rounded out the celebration.
