Nurturing Belief, Worship, and Service

A Legacy of Faith and Fellowship

Parish Pastor

Born in 1966 in Coligny, studied theology, ordained in 1996, served in Pretoria, married to Antje, father of five.

At Lüneburg, we cherish the adventure of faith that has guided our congregation since its foundation in 1869. Nestled in a community rich in history and natural beauty, our church serves as a spiritual home to primarily Springbok German-speaking Christians, as well as a diverse group of believers connected through shared core values of Belief, Worship, and Service.

Our week is filled with a variety of events that cater to all ages—from divine services and music to gatherings that deepen our faith and fellowship. The spirit of our community extends beyond the church walls, integrating into every aspect of local life, including our school, kindergarten, retirement home, and cultural festivals, thus enriching our social fabric.

Though rooted in our German heritage, as indicated by our name, Peter-Paul’s Congregation, we actively engage with neighbouring congregations within the Free Evangelical Lutheran Synod in South Africa (FELSISA), the North Eastern Lutheran Church of Southern Africa (NELCSA), and the Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (LCSA), among others. This interconnectedness enhances our resilience and adaptability in meeting the challenges of everyday life.

Originating from the Hermannsburg Mission, our faith community has been a part of FELSISA since 1892 and has grown to encompass about 330 souls. Our 150-year history is filled with both triumphs and trials, as documented in our anniversary commemorative publication. Many of our members who have moved globally continue to hold a deep connection to Lüneburg, frequently returning to this scenic land and their extended family here.

Join us at Lüneburg as we continue our journey of faith, grounded in tradition but always looking forward to new horizons of service and worship.
