Dieter Schnackenberg
My name is Dieter Schnackenberg and I was born (18/08/1964) in Pretoria and was baptised in the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Congregation in Arcadia. After completing my school education, I went to Potchefstroom, to do my 2 years of national military service. In 1985 I started my studies at the Technikon to become an electrical engineer. During this time, I felt a call to join the ministry and therefore started to study BA of Arts at the University of Pretoria. After this I went to Germany to study Theology at the Hochschule in Oberursel. After the foundational phase, I continued my studies Erlangen, and came back to Oberursel in 1997, to write my final theological exam. My vicarage brought me to Kirchdorf, in Wartburg, KZN, were I was introduced into the practical side of a ministry by Pastor Siegfried Köhne. In 1999 I receive a call from the Lüneburg parish, near Paulpietersburg in KZN. I served this congregation till December 2018.Then I followed a call of the St. Thomas Lutheran Congregation in Edgemead, Cape Town.
