Synodical Youth Retreat 2016 in Kirchdorf

Synodical Youth Retreat 2016 in Kirchdorf. Youth Organisation of the FELSISA

Once again a successful Synodical Youth Retreat of the FELSISA has come to an end.

From 6 – 11 December 2016 around 75 youth members came together at the Wartburg-Kirchdorf Schülerheim in Wartburg under the guidance of our Youth Parents Ralph and Cornelia Schröder with the purpose of growing together in faith, getting to know one another and strengthening fellowship among the youth of the FELSISA.

The theme of the retreat was “Becoming a Christian – Remaining a Christian”. Pastors Michael Ahlers, Jacob Corzine and Helmut Paul, along with student of theology Martin Paul, led the youth through a series of talks and discussions around an evangelistic course (“Spur8”). The intention in working through such a course was for the youth to study the basics of the Christian faith from a fresh perspective, thereby enriching their own faith. This goal was met by the Youth Retreat as the uniformly positive feedback afterwards showed.

The 2016 Retreat culminated in the Divine Service on Sunday. The Divine Service stands at the heart of the life of a Christian as it is the primary place where the triune God comes to sinners so that they might “Become Christians” and “Remain Christians”. The youth participated in the Divine Service of the Congregation of Christ, Kirchdorf, enriching it with choir singing and brass music.
